Studio time
I will hopefully be able to get into a studio in the not too distant future, to record an album for my tilde~ project. I want to have the six tracks of Æsthesis recorded in a live room for natural spatialisation. So we will see how it all goes.

Noizemaschin!! Mandurah #4 coming up
This will be the fourth Noizemaschin!! event that I have brought to Mandurah. This time I will be performing as myself instead of tilde~ since that project is taking off on its own trajectory. I have not started on the piece that I will be performing for NM Mandurah but I have some ideas.
I want to learn how to use research data in Max to create or manipulate music. With this I may utilise the wireless controller apps on iPad as the user interface. It may turn out to be quite different to the ambient stuff that I have been performing at previous NM gigs, but hopefully it will be just as (if not more) interesting.
I am also pleased to have the young local artist Navana on the set-list for the show. She is well known around Mandurah for being a proactive singer and songwriter with an acoustic guitar. I’m hoping that for Noizemaschin!! she can broaden the already fairly wide repertoire of art that she can create.

Rehearsing
tilde~ rehearsing and getting ready for the show.
Æsthēsɪs – tilde~
Engage all of your senses in a multi-disciplinary performance. Mixed live and set against the beautiful visuals of nature, experience the musical ambience that can be created by electroacoustic instruments and a laptop.
A conceptual collection of six pieces of ambient music set to beautiful visuals, in order to create an experience stimulating multiple senses. The tracks are created using laptop and the input from electroacoustic instruments. Due to the nature of the random number generators used in the processing in each patch, no two performances will be the same.
The layered works of the visualist Lillevan have been extremely influential to the concept of the imagery of Æsthēsɪs. Similarly to his work, there are a lot of juxtapositions between the natural and digital worlds present in both the music and visuals.
Three Rivers brewery will be offering a unique and limited edition beer on the night.
Come and experience this performance with all of your senses.
WHEN: Saturday, 21 May 7:30pm – 9:30pm
WHERE: Make Place, 17/38 Mandurah Terrace

Article in The Mandurah Mail
The Mandurah Mail wrote an article on the workshops that Rhys hosted in April, and the upcoming multi-disciplinary performance in May. These are all a part of Mandurah’s Stretch Art Festival, and an effort to broaden the spectrum of art in the Peel Region.

Noizemaschin!! 51b Mandurah
After many months of planning and application writing, Noizemaschin!! Mandurah finally happened. I have to give a huge thanks to John Lambrecht at RDA Peel, Kim Jameson and the City of Mandurah, Karen Lyons and Rhys Williams from Make Place, and all the performers. Also those who helped in other ways, namely Skot McDonald an Meg Travers.
Some great photos of the night have been uploaded to the Facebook event page.
John Lambrecht was so kind as to take a short video of myself performing as tilde~, and some of Dane Yates’ performance.
